“This dinner experience with Hoa has something that is often missing from dining at restaurants, whether casual or fine dining. Hoa meticulously prepared the menu for our dinner experience, and, since he was coming to our home to cook for us, had well-prepared much of the menu, leaving the final cooking and finishing touches to be done at our kitchen.
That "something" that is missing from other dining experiences is just how personal this experience can be. Yes, you may revisit a favorite restaurant of yours when you and your s/o went on your first date or celebrated a milestone, or a restaurant that reminds you of one of your favorite trips. But Hoa created our menu based on our friendship, our experiences, and whatever else he wished for us to experience during this evening. We chatted while he set up shop in our kitchen and watched him whip up and plate our dishes like a true professional. Having just graduated from his culinary school, and previously having had dinner at his place before his culinary school journey, it was truly amazing to see his growth and the even more attention he puts into the details of his dishes, if that's even possible! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone, as surely even if he does not know you well, he would be able to created something based on from whatever you wish to draw inspiration from for your dinner experience.” - Cecilia
“I had an absolute pleasure of attending one of Hoa's private dinners, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Every dish was thoughtful and beautifully executed. The rice cakes were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The branzino was incredible: delicate, fresh, and cooked to perfection, every bite felt intentional. And the desserts truly stole the show. (I love dessert!) The peach jam custard was bright and comforting, while the coffee custard had a rich, velvety depth that was the grand ending to the meal.
Beyond the food, the entire evening felt special. Sitting in his kitchen, sharing stories and conversations between courses, made it more than just a dinner, it felt like being part of something personal and creative. You can feel the passion and care he brings to his craft.

The chef had curated such a thoughtful menu for our private dinner. Whipped ricotta toast, salmon sashimi with scallion oil, crispy pork belly with peanut noodles, and a special tiramisu with a twist.
Not only was everything delicious, it was hand crafted with such delicate care and precision by Chef Hoa. He puts his personality into his food which when combined with his sharp technical expertise from his NYC culinary training, made flavor bombs of dishes.
In addition, watching him move and cook in the kitchen had put us in a trance, it felt like a show, art presentation, dinner, and a hug all in one.
I am excited to potentially revisit My Kitchen again (slots to get to the chef are quite competitive and had to be made far in advanced) — but if anyone could snag a spot, they definitely should.

“This truly was such a special dinner for me, my wife, and my sister who came all the way from Utah - with our hearts, eyes, and mouths intent on having a dinner cooked by Chef Hoa! And let me tell you, all 3 aspects of our desires were satisfied!
In regards to our hearts, Hoa provided such a heartwarming and wholesome experience for us, as each of the items in our 8 course meal was thoughtfully curated around the special moments we’ve experienced in our lives and the relationship we have with Hoa.
In regards to our eyes, they were widened with delight every time Hoa put down a new dish in front of us - the presentation and plating of every dish was spectacular and made us feel as if we were in a fine dining restaurant or eating like royals do.
And finally in regards to our mouths, the most important aspect of course, they (our mouths) were delightfully taken on a journey through various taste profiles, textures, and levels of lightness and heaviness that left us craving for more while fully understanding that our stomachs were already filled to the brim.
Hoa provided each dish to us at a steady and proficient rate and knew exactly when to change up the pace, the drinks he made and had for us were flowing at my desired pace and it was wonderful getting to share a drink and converse with him throughout the night. He also provided us with a little refresher in the middle of the dinner that was a great pallet cleanser for us to continue eating onwards. Usually high end fancy meals like this can leave us wanting for more and we eventually end up at the nearest McDonald’s, however, that was not the case with this dinner as I was stuffed to satisfaction and ready to take on a lovely post dinner sleep for the night. Hoa’s dinner was worth his price and much more and if you’re lucky enough to be able to try his food, I highly recommend it! One of the best meals I had during my stay in NYC.” - David
